Michael was born on July 23rd, 2008 with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Micheal wore hearing aids from the time he was 4 months old until the day of surgery. We decided that we didn't want anything to hold Mikey back from living as close to a normal life as possible even having a hearing loss so we moved forward with cochlear implants. I have created this page for friends and family to follow Mikey's progress and for parents that may be in the same situation we were with making this desicion. I found it very helpful to look at other parents blogs/pages for their children when we were making one of the hardest choices of our lives. Thanks for reading.

Our Poem to Beth...

To Mikeys wonderful speech therapist...

We put this in a scrapbook with some pictures for her as tomorrow is her last day coming to our house.
Hopefully, he will get to continue to work with her some in the office. But she has been coming to our home since Mike was 4 months old.

I'd run to the door when I would hear knocks,
Whether we played on the couch or with me in a box,
I loved to blow bubbles,
And do all my puzzles,
Some days we'd play and have a good time,
Some days I was tired and just wanted to whine,
I'm glad that we've had more good days then bad,
But everytime you tell me no I still get so mad,
Don't you remember my first word was ball,
And when my favorite thing to do was dress up a doll,
Think of all the animals that you got to meet,
You even learned how to work with a pig at your feet,
We thank you so much for all that you've done,
I hope we continue to have just as much fun.

<3 Mikey.
